The #Holi #festival is a #Hindu festival that commemorates the victory of good over evil & symbolically celebrates the death of winter & the birth of spring.

Known as the festival of #Colours it originated in @India but is now held worldwide like in #MexicoCity with people having fun by throwing coloured powder and water at each other, lighting #bonfires and messing around.

It is celebrated the day after the full moon in #March each year.

#TheDayOfTheDead or #DíaDeLosMuertos is a Mexican #remembrance gathering for family and friends to #pray for & remember those who have died, & help support their spiritual journey.

This colourful #celebration is #carnival like complete with street parades, brass bands and fireworks. The belief is that for 24 hours, the #spirits of the #dead adults come to enjoy the #carnaval .

Occurs in #November & coincides with the Catholic holiday of #AllSouls & #AllSaints Day.
